Born in British Columbia Rothery had always had a dream of being a professional. When she was 13, Rothery made her debut on stage with a performance in the musical Bye Bye Birdie. The show won her the Most Outstanding Performance Award for her performance on stage in Annie Get Your Gun, a production by her theater company.
